I use an old tds recon data collector (no longer manufactured) for my total station and have had issues with both the battery and chargers failing. it is hard to find a replacement, as the unit is no longer being manufactured. this is a great backup for emergency use, and it takes easily-available batteries.. Rebuilding, re-celling and repair of all survey equipment batteryies for all makes and models of surveying equipment.. One of my mcelroy datalogger rental units was returned to be with a broken screen. just to find the replacement screen was a challenge on its own. i don't recommend you trying this on your own..
