The 90w ac power supply used by most dell laptops including the inspiron 1525 has a small center conductor (pin in the center of the plug) that tells the laptop a genuine dell ac adapter is plugged in. unfortunately, when that connection is not working the laptop will not charge the battery -- even though the it runs the laptop.. I bought a inspiron 1525 in march 2008. as of today the battery is not charging. i called dell and they told me that i needed a new battery. after spending nearly $135 for a new battery, i am still having the same issue. unfortunately my laptop is out of warranty. i have read the various forums....
Hi i had a dell inspiron and i had the same problem , it is most likely that your battery has just got a problem and needs to be replaced but annother working fix is and im being serios here is slapping your laptop above the place where your charger gets hit so in my case near the inspiron text , this fixes it as often the pin that recieves the laptops charger and recognises it may have moved .. I've been through 2 chargers, with my dell inspiron 1525, now once again my charger that i paid $85 for is not working. it's not that old, 6 months maybe. 5 did get it to work yesterday and managed to charge my battery to full powers. but today not so lucky. my lights on the front are always blue,, although he battery light is not on.. I just bought a brand new battery for this laptop, it came with 53% battery life and because it has been plugged in it hasn't dropped a percentage but will not charge. it says in the battery info that it's plugged in but not charging does anybody know why? - dell inspiron 1525.
